No! Soft washing is the only safe method for Halifax roof cleaning and moss removal. Pressure or power washing can damage the shingles, resulting in a weakened roof susceptible to leaks and rapid deterioration. Pressure washing your roof could also void your roof manufacturer’s warranty.

At ProCare Halifax, we service a variety of roof types. However, there are certain roofing materials and pitches we typically avoid due to safety and expertise concerns.
- Metal Roofs: Due to their slippery nature these are done by a case-by-case basis, ensuring the safety and feasibility of the cleaning process for each unique situation.
- Cedar Shake Roofs: These roofs require specialized care and techniques to prevent damage. Given that such expertise is currently outside our service range, we do not offer cleaning for cedar shake roofs.
- Roofs with a Pitch Steeper Than 6/12: Cleaning a steep pitched roof is also done on a case-by-case basis, factoring in specialized safety equipment and challenges in accessing and cleaning the steep surface, all of which are necessary for ensuring the safety of our technicians.
Do you need roof cleaning, repair, or replacement?
